We, at the Angeles Medical Center, Inc.- Medical Laboratory perform tests or procedures on body specimens such as blood, urine, feces and other body fluids, in order to obtain information about the medical condition of a patient, i.e. presence of a disease (diagnosis) so that the attending physician can formulate treatment and advice on disease prevention and management.

The Bacteriology Section receives almost any body specimen including discharges, feces, urine, blood, sputum and other body fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, etc., as well as possible infected tissue.

The Hematology Section is concerned with the origin, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood diseases that affect the production of blood and its components, such as blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, and the mechanism of coagulation.

BLOOD STORAGE
The Blood Storage is where blood or its components are collected as a result of blood donation or collection, stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusion.
Cross Matching is also done in this section wherein tests are performed prior to a blood transfusion in order to determine if the donor’s blood (blood bag) is compatible with the blood of an intended recipient (patient).

In partnership with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, we conduct quarterly Bloodletting Activity to encourage people to donate blood and provide blood reserve to those in need.
