The Bacteriology Section receives almost any bodily specimen including discharges, feces, urine, blood, sputum and other bodily fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, etc., as well as possible infected tissue.

The Hematology Section is concerned with the origin, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood diseases that affect the production of blood and its components, such as blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, and the mechanism of coagulation.

The Histopathology Section is where the microscopic examination of tissue is done in order to study the manifestations of disease. Our medical technologists will process the specimen and will be futher examined by the pathologists.

The Serology Section does procedures on the detection and measurement of the levels of antibodies as a result in the blood and the immune system’s response to a particular bacteria or virus.

The Blood Storage is where blood or its components are collected as a result of blood donation or collection, stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusion.
Cross Matching is also done in this section wherein tests are performed prior to a blood transfusion in order to determine if the donor’s blood (blood bag) is compatible with the blood of an intended recipient (patient).

In partnership with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, we conduct quarterly Bloodletting Activity to encourage people to donate blood and provide blood reserve to those in need.
